Adults who are obese or overweight are sometimes confused how to reduce them. Actually there are proven strategies to lose weight for obese people. The researchers revealed that the most effective strategies for successful weight loss for obese adults are eating less fat and exercise more. Although sound cliche, but this way is shown to be effective and correct.
"There is a perception that fat people can not lose weight, but obese participants who did this strategy successfully lose weight," said study leader Jacinda M Nicklas, MD, MPH, MA, of Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Harvard Medical School, as quoted by Medindia on Wednesday (04/11/2012).
In this study researchers analyzed data from the National Health and Nutritional Examination Survey in 2001-2006 involving participants more than 4,000 adults were obese with a body mass index of 30 or higher.
Participants reported a weight loss of at least 5 percent of its original weight when they perform the pattern a little fat and lots of exercise. And a decrease of at least 10 percent weight loss when combined with weight-loss program.
"Although the guidelines recommend a drop of 10 percent of body weight to improve health, but this study found a decrease in body weight by 5 percent already provide health benefits," said Dr. Nicklas.
Researchers reveal the diet by simply eating or drinking fluids, eating a diet pill that is not accompanied by a prescription as well as the current popular diets do not indicate a successful weight loss and effective.
These results also show a lot of people use the wrong strategy to lose weight so it does not give significant results, including the use of drugs that claim to reduce weight. It is expected people to use the method proved to be more effective and correct.
