High cholesterol is one of the major risk factor for cardiovascular disease was the cause of death in the United States. Since there is no such thing as 'magic bullet' that could make disappear cholesterol, the combination of certain foods with medicines that are prescribed to help lower cholesterol and protect your heart.
Dietitian Patricia Bannan, author of Eat Right When Time is Tight also recommend some cholesterol-lowering foods that some of them may surprise you.
According to Bannan, one of the best diet to manage cholesterol is strawberries. Strawberries contain a lot of heart-healthy substances, including phytochemicals, vitamin C, folic acid, potassium, fiber and phytosterols which can actually inhibit the absorption of cholesterol.
